De algún modo, inexplicable para muchos, las organizaciones populares (revolucionarias incluso) han desaparecido o perdido la influencia que una vez tuvieron “en el seno del pueblo”, lo que ha permitido que el gobierno o los gobiernos, hayan conducido el país por el camino que más le ha convenido a los sectores de poder.
Si bien la economía dominicana ha crecido sistemáticamente en los últimos años, no se puede decir que haya contribuido al mejoramiento de la vida material y espiritual de los ciudadanos. Al contrario, los niveles de marginalidad y de pobreza han crecido. Las estadísticas de órganos tanto nacionales como extranjeros colocan nuestro país en posiciones muy desventajosas con relación a otras nacionales de América Latina. El Programa de Desarrollo Humano de las Naciones Unidas, entre otros, no nos deja mentir.
Cada tres o cuatro meses el gobierno, a través del Banco Central, habla del crecimiento de la economía. Pero nadie habla de la enorme deuda, que según los expertos, equivale al 45% del Producto Interno Bruto (“Valor monetario total de la producción corriente de bienes y servicios de un país durante un período de tiempo que suele ser de un año”). En pocos años el gobierno del presidente Leonel Fernández ha endeudado el país exorbitantemente. El 24% del presupuesto nacional se va en el pago de los compromisos económicos.
Yo, que no sé nada de economía, tengo la percepción de que el crecimiento económico no es más que marketing político. Yo, que no sé ni papa de economía, siento ( en los bolsillos), que el país va de mal en peor, pues los alimentos, la energía eléctrica, el gas licuado de petróleo, los combustibles, las viviendas, la educación y la salud, me cuestan más dinero cada día. Yo, que soy de la cada vez más empobrecida clase media, estoy con el grito al cielo. Y cuando algún funcionario, con salario millonario, me dice que la economía crece, que el país está muy bien, que no hay problema, que la economía está blindada, que vamos mejor que China Comunista que invierte más del 8% de su Producto Interno Bruto en educación, me dan ganas de darle una carrera.
Un Ministro, con un salario de un millón de pesos limpios todos los meses (sin contar el dinero del grado a grado, de las comisiones y de otros negocios sucios), en doce años terminará con 144 millones en una cuenta bancaria. ¡Y una pensión mensual de 500 o 600 mil pesos mientras viva! ¡Claro que el país va bien! ¡Claro que llegó el progreso! ¿Y así quién no? ¿Eh?
El gobierno le debe a las mil vírgenes. Y no les paga. No tiene con qué pagar. El déficit este año terminará superando los 80 mil millones de pesos. El presidente Fernández gastó a manos el dinero de los contribuyentes para comprar el Congreso, principalmente el Senado. Ahora no hay dinero ni para pagarle a los empleados públicos. Y quiere que el pueblo pague ese dinero con más impuestos. Este gobierno tramposo y corrupto quiere que sea el pueblo quien pague. (Que le cobre a los que se roban todos los años entre 80 y 100 mil millones de pesos del Presupuesto Nacional).
El gobierno morado (más que un gobierno parece una peste) no ha jugado limpio nunca. Se ha valido de su poder económico y su poder mediático (ambas cosas juntas) para imponer su política económica y sus valores éticos-morales, que han servido para corromperlo todo.
El presidente Fernández ha podido hacer cuanto ha querido porque ha estado solo en el escenario político; sin oposición. Los grupos de izquierda parecen haber desaparecido. Nadie sabe qué se han hecho sus dirigentes más connotados. Parece que se cansaron de luchar, que luche Jack Veneno. Es hora de que el PRD, que no sale de un lío, se coloque del lado de los sectores progresistas para decirle no al gobierno en sus afanas de colocar más impuestos para resolver sus problemas financieros. Este gobierno no tiende de palabras. Hay que actuar como demanden las circunstancias. La violencia la está poniendo el gobierno, no la oposición. Querer aumentar los combustibles con nuevos impuestos, por ejemplo, es violencia, no paz.
